Verizon Communications was among the multichannel video providers that demonstrated souped-up set-top boxes at an electronics industry trade show last week. Consumers continue to prefer the equipment over smart TVs and video-equipped gaming consoles, largely because the set-tops can hold huge amounts of storage for recording shows.
