U.S. gross domestic product declined by 0.1% in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to initial estimates from the Department of Commerce. The slowdown is reflected in the American Chemistry Council's Chemical Activity Barometer, which recorded weak growth in the fourth quarter, said ACC chief economist Kevin Swift. The CAB gained 0.3% in October, slipped 0.8% in November and rose 1% in December.
