Gen. John Allen, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, has submitted three plans to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta outlining possible troop levels in Afghanistan after the U.S. ends its combat mission in the region in 2014. President Barack Obama is expected to discuss the plans at the White House next week with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. The plans offer possible U.S. troop levels of 6,000, 10,000 and 20,000.
