House Democrats asked the Obama administration to clarify the definition of a reasonably designed wellness program under provisions of the Affordable Care Act, along with alternatives employees can use to qualify for rewards. The National Committee on Quality Assurance said its Wellness and Health Promotion Accreditation program could help the government define requirements, but the U.S. Chamber of Commerce warned the success of wellness programs overall could be jeopardized if they have to make individual accommodations.
