Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks are both betting on software-defined networking for their emerging enterprise platforms, but while their solutions are similar, they rely on different strategies to bring their offerings to market, analysts observe. Cisco places a strong emphasis on hardware and is advancing its products across multiple fronts. Juniper is dedicated to a software-centric approach and has limited its commercial push to data centers.
