The University of Colorado Denver is holding workshops to get students interested in careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The workshops are aimed, in part, at reducing the number of college students who drop out of STEM programs. "They may not want to build bridges, but perhaps they'll see or hear something that may intrigue them about biomedical engineering," said Inge Wefes, associate dean of the university's graduate school.
