DIRECTV will expand its "TV Everywhere" efforts this year, CEO Mike White told analysts, saying it was an important element to competing against cable companies' multiplatform products. DIRECTV Everywhere offers on-demand programming from 36 cable networks. White also said the company will put more marketing resources behind its Genie multiroom-DVR service and concentrate on improving "search, discovery and social networking" features across various devices.
