DIRECTV, in conjunction with FreeWheel, is developing a system to place ads in TV Everywhere content with an eye on launching near the end of the year, the companies said. DIRECTV, which has acquired a stake in FreeWheel, intends for the system to eventually include demographically targeted ads on wireless and Internet platforms. "Being able to offer our programming partners seamless digital advertising will help us secure top content and provide our customers with the most robust 'everywhere' product available," DIRECTV's Tony Goncalves said.
