Southern California Edison denied accusations that it failed to disclose an alleged decision to skip recommended safety upgrades at its San Onofre nuclear plant in California because they would require a lengthy review process. Rep. Edward Markey, D-Mass., in a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission, alleged that Edison International's investors might not have been fully informed about steam-generator issues at the facility. Edison "would never, and did not, install steam generators that it believed would not perform safely," the company said.
