The HHS rejected the health insurance industry's petition to gradually introduce rules barring insurers from charging older people premiums more than three times greater than those for younger adults in individual and small-group plans. As a result, younger people are facing higher costs, the industry warned. "The new restrictions on age rating will result in an overnight increase in health care costs for people in their 20s, 30s and early 40s," America's Health Insurance Plans president Karen Ignagni said.
