Robots capable of cleaning the outside of buildings are coming to market, and some envision a future of robots taking on the arduous task of cleaning skyscrapers rather than humans. Older buildings, which are not generally built uniformly, may remain outside robots' reach. "In some cases you could see a machine has benefit, but in most cases it'll be old elbow grease and ingenuity," said Cameron Riddell, president of window-cleaning firm J. Racenstein.
