The continued operation of Entergy's Indian Point nuclear plant in New York state is "not likely to jeopardize the continued existence" of two endangered species of sturgeon, according to the National Marine Fisheries Service. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission requested NMFS input as part of relicensing hearings for the plant. Entergy is glad "that NMFS recognizes Indian Point's operation during its license renewal period is not likely to jeopardize sturgeon fish populations," spokesman Jerry Nappi said.
