Labour Party deputy leader Harriet Harman has written a letter to British broadcasters inquiring about the number of older women working in television in support of the Commission on Older Women’s efforts to promote females in media and public life. "I think that there's a combination of age and sex discrimination which doesn't apply to younger women – although they obviously still struggle with balancing a work and family – and doesn't apply to older men,” says Harman.
