Nvidia on Tuesday unveiled the Tegra 4i in hopes of extending its success in the tablet market to smartphones. The chipmaker demonstrated its software-defined radio technology for bridging 3G and Long-Term Evolution wireless networks. "Everyone has always felt an SDR would be the holy grail," said Senior VP Phil Carmack, adding that the Tegra 4i is faster and takes up half the space of rival Qualcomm's circuitry.
