Government-sponsored defined-benefit and defined-contribution plans account for 20% of advisers' income in retirement, with business-investment income contributing 10%, according to the report. A separate Cogent report says 40% of clients were "highly confident" in their financial adviser in 2012, compared with 36% the year before.
