Florida's Miami-Dade and Broward counties have only a "handful" of bridges rated "structurally deficient" and are being kept serviceable with limited resources, but highway and public-works engineers say the region will soon face the challenge of paying for the cost of major repairs or replacements. Miami-Dade County will need over $450 million for the rehabilitation and replacement of 206 bridges over the next 10 to 20 years.
