Children who eat cereal for breakfast have a lower body mass index than children who skip breakfast or eat something else, according to research published in Infant, Child, & Adolescent Nutrition. "A serving of cereal and milk provides kids with protein and four important nutrients they often don't get enough of: fiber, calcium, vitamin D and potassium," said researcher Kevin Miller of the W.K. Kellogg Institute for Food and Nutrition.
