Despite their longer life spans, adults born between 1946 and 1964 are at greater risk of diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol than those born a generation earlier, a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine shows. Baby boomers are also less likely to exercise and more prone to obesity, researchers wrote. The researchers warn of the high health care costs that accompany such chronic diseases, but experts say boomers can still make changes to improve their health.
