Maximum standardized uptake value as measured by PET/CT may help improve prediction of progression-free survival in patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer undergoing stereotactic body radiation therapy, according to findings presented at an imaging and radiation therapy conference. The study involved patients who had PET/CT imaging with SUVmax assessment before undergoing treatment. SUVmax assessment may allow for more tailored treatment strategies and ultimately better outcomes, a researcher said.
