T-Mobile USA reported today a net subscriber gain for the fourth quarter compared with a year ago -- 0.6% -- but revenues fell by 5.2% because of losses among contract customers. Gains in its prepaid business enabled T-Mobile to add 61,000 subscribers, and the carrier said that it was looking forward to the closing in the next several months of its merger with MetroPCS as well as the ability to sell Apple products this year. In 2012, T-Mobile's contract base fell slightly to 20.3 million while its prepaid total grew to 5.8 million subscribers.
