Vodafone wants to replicate telecoms in the U.S. that provide quad-play bundles of wireless, telephone, Internet and video services to customers. "I'd like to provide pan-European unified services," chief executive Vittorio Colao told reporters Monday, the same day he said the British telecom could expand its European operations without parting with its 45% stake in Verizon Wireless. Colao said Vodafone would offer some services through local partnerships. Colao's comments come as European telecoms are competing with cable and pushing regulators for more freedom to merge within individual countries.
