Written AAFP testimony to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education urged Congress to adequately fund physician training. The group said the Health Resources and Services Administration will need at least $7 billion in fiscal year 2014 to administer programs to meet growing demands brought by health care reform. The AAFP called for at least $120 million for the Primary Care Extension Program and at least $71 million for primary care training.
