Nearly 200 BAE Systems workers in southern New Hampshire will be laid off as the company retrenches in the face of an industry slowdown. The layoffs are part of a 300-job reduction that the defense giant is making worldwide and could be just the beginning of cutbacks, a BAE official says. While future cuts could come as a result of sequestration, the New Hampshire job losses are due to what an official called "the downturn of defense."
