Peter Moore, chief operating officer of Electronic Arts, said Thursday that digital games, downloaded from the Internet, may make up 50% of the company's sales by 2015. "In two years we could be looking at the tipping point where digital becomes bigger than the traditional core," he said. The downloading seen with February's release of EA's free Real Racing 3 mobile game could signal that trend, according to Moore. "It taught us that the business model of the future is bringing in a larger sampling of consumers with a free-to-play mechanic," Moore said. "We're seeing the balancing now of other platforms against the console."
