In an effort to remain competitive in the tough European aviation market, Air France, British Airways and Lufthansa are offering more discounts on short-haul offerings while improving their long-haul services. International Consolidated Airlines Group, which runs British Airways and Iberia in Spain, raised its bid on the Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling Airlines. Lufthansa is relaunching its discount airline, Germanwings, and Air France is stepping up its full-service offerings.
