The Department of Homeland Security is offering cybersecurity advice to private industry that banks should follow if they want to shore up infrastructure and protect their institutions, says Bill Stewart, a senior vice president with Booz Allen. Among the guidelines, the government advises banks not to immediately try to drive out a cyberintruder, but to instead save "forensic data" and keep the attack from spreading while investigators seek to learn as much as possible about the attacker.
