FMI representatives, at a news conference near the Capitol, spoke in favor of the Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act, which would exclude grocers and convenience stores from required menu labeling. "This was not designed to regulate grocery stores," said Erik Lieberman, FMI's regulatory counsel. "It would have a disproportionate impact on grocery stores, which have at least 1,500 items, compared to a restaurant menu that might have 80 items on it."
