Games for mobile devices are the hot spot for developers, leaving Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts and other leading publishers of video games for consoles and PCs in a quandary, Cliff Edwards writes. "It's anarchy out there, and these big companies are finding it difficult to steer their supertankers," says Ben Cousins of Scattered Entertainment, which is developing free-to-play titles for the iPad. More than half of North American game developers heading to a San Francisco conference this week say their next projects will be for smartphones and tablet computers.
