Vaillancourt, vice president for human resources at the University of Arizona, writes in this blog post. Recommend others for jobs when asked and work to ensure you will receive recommendations from others, she suggests. "When your name surfaces repeatedly in the figurative chalice, the decision maker is able to justify selecting you because all of your colleagues agreed that you were the right choice," she writes.
