After the House and Senate voted to pass a spending bill to continue funding the government, the bill heads to President Obama's desk for a signature. The bill largely kept intact budget cuts from sequestration, including cuts to the Federal Aviation Administration.
American Airlines and US Airways have created an office to oversee the proposed merger between the two carriers. "The Integration Management Office (IMO) will be the primary nerve center for integration," said the executives in charge of the integration effort in a memo to employees.

Airlines' engine choices to power the A320neo rely on two very different technologies. The airlines must decide between the CFM International Leap-1A and the Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G. The Leap-1A relies on new materials such as ceramix matrix composites, while the PW1100G features geared turbofan architecture.
