The selectmen of Scituate, Mass., voted 4-0 to not endorse a petition that would shut down the town's wind turbine because of health-related complaints from nearby residents. The selectmen said they would rather wait for the findings of a sound study before acting on the petition. Despite the lack of support from the selectmen, the petition will still advance to Town Meeting because it garnered enough signatures for a town-wide vote.
