A 4-year-old Anchorage, Alaska, preschool student with a rare genetic disorder has an unusual helper in the classroom -- a miniature horse. Zaiden Beattie, whose condition affects balance and coordination, attends Russian Jack Elementary School with the 10-month-old horse named Zoe that wears sneakers. "She's providing balance and mobility, and she's learning how to pick things up and eventually hand things to him," said Zaiden's mother, Lesley Zacharias, a professional horse trainer.
