A study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found an increased risk of dying over the next 20 years among adults who survived a stroke before age 50. Dr. Feliks Koyfman of the Neurovascular Laboratory at Winthrop-University Hospital commented that healthier eating and exercise habits; medication; and abstaining from alcohol and smoking can help young stroke survivors reduce their future risks.
