American Airlines introduced its vision for a NextGen airport at its terminal in the Dallas/Fort Worth International earlier this year. The terminal includes free-standing kiosks, digital screens that display security wait times and power stations to charge electronic devices. American plans to roll out the NextGen terminal at New York’s LaGuardia Airport by the end of the year.
Passengers at Dallas/Fort Worth airport can learn cardio-pulmonary resuscitation at a kiosk set up by the American Heart Association and American Airlines Occupation Health Services. The hands-on kiosk near Gate 7 includes an actual CPR mannequin.
Expect to pay a little more to park at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport in October. The extra revenue from the parking rate increase is going to help fund a renovated terminal. Fees in all lots will go up by one dollar.
American Airlines has partnered with Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to identify and put in place sustainability measures. The airline and airport each have their own environmental programs, and recently worked together to improve American Airlines' recycling program.
As part of a seven-year, $1.9 billion project, construction crews have begun work on Terminal E of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Officials say they don't expect any significant issues for passengers. "This work in Terminal E is designed to meet the needs of passengers today while we transition to completely renewed facilities," said CEO Jeff Fegan.
