The Senate may attach a version of the Marketplace Fairness Act as a non-binding amendment to a broader budget bill, to determine whether the actual bill will win 60 votes. The bill would allow states to require online retailers to collect state sales tax. "We're working overtime in pushing this, talking to our members, activating our grassroots," says NRF spokesman Stephen Schatz.
