Spanish nonprofit Vivosano is pushing lawmakers to draft legislation that would ban bisphenol A from food packaging. The effort is part of the bigger Toxic Free Home campaign, which aims to ban all endocrine disrupting chemicals. According to Nadia Bennich, international campaigns officer for Vivosano, a ban is not likely to take effect soon, but supporters are encouraged to reduce purchases of food in packaging that contains BPA. "They can reduce buying food in these containers and switch to glass for example," she said.
