Revenue from in-application purchasing grew from 53% in January 2012 to a record 76% in February in the U.S., according to a Distimo survey of apps in the iPhone App Store. Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga and Hay Day were the top three apps for revenue production. The combination of paid apps with in-app purchasing yielded the most revenue per download on the iPhone platform, Distimo said.
