Tribal colleges and universities may have to cut classes and faculty if the federal budget cuts, known as sequestration, are not resolved before July 1, some advocates and administrators say. Budget cuts could total $85 million for the schools that rely on the federal Tribally Controlled Community College Assistance Act. "That, combined with tuition and fees are the primary source of funding for them, for faculty salaries and the core things that you need," said Cheryl Crazy Bull, president and CEO of the American Indian College Fund.
