U.K.-based investment firm Future Capital Partners has agreed to purchase the Appomattox Bio Energy ethanol plant near Richmond, Va., for an undisclosed amount. FCP intends to sell the plant's equipment to its investment unit, which is planning to build a new biorefinery in England, said Jonathan Turney, FCP's associate director for renewable energy. Using the equipment from the U.S. plant should cut the cost of the U.K. project by about $75.7 million, Turney said.
