Students from three community colleges are getting more than just a taste of what they'll be doing in the future as they participate in the University of California research project the "Sequence to Success DNA Barcoding Challenge." The project, which also includes university students, is being funded with the assistance of a Department of Education grant. "This grant aims to increase the number of community college students transferring into the STEM fields and improve their success and retention in the university," said Richard Cardullo, professor, faculty director of a STEM program at the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences and co-principal investigator of the grant.
