In higher education, salary negotiations can be tricky, if not impossible, Rob Jenkins, an associate professor of English at Georgia Perimeter College, writes in this blog post. Community colleges especially have a set salary and usually are unable to negotiate, and may withdraw an offer if a candidate tries to negotiate, he writes.
