Four engineers recently visited their alma mater to give students a hands-on lesson in engineering design and construction, as well as offer a little advice about job options in science, technology, engineering and math. One of the engineers, Austin Hilton, explained the importance of a strong foundation in math. "A lot of engineering classes are based on the principles learned in calculus," Hilton said. "So you may not use it often, but you need to understand it."
