Teen smokers who increased the number of days they exercised for at least 20 minutes, equivalent to a brief stroll, smoked fewer cigarettes than those who weren't active, according to a study in the Journal of Adolescent Health. Researchers found that combining an intensive smoking-cessation program and a fitness regimen was the most effective strategy for helping teen smokers quit the habit.
