There are encouraging signs that 2013 will be a far better year for ethanol producers than 2012, when the elimination of the blender's tax credit and the massive drought squeezed margins, said Brian Kletscher, CEO and general manager of Highwater Ethanol in Lamberton, Minn. One of the causes of optimism is the Renewable Fuel Standard, which is aiming for 36 billion gallons of biofuels in the fuel mix by 2022. "There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel," Kletscher said.
