Tiny structures that behave like biological tissue have been produced by researchers at the University of Oxford in the U.K. using a 3D printer. The tiny lipid-coated droplets may one day be programmed to release drugs on a physiological signal or act as scaffolding or replacements for malfunctioning cells in tissue transplants.
