The AAFP said a proposed rule to reform Medicare by removing regulations deemed unnecessary, obsolete or too burdensome is a good idea but contains "vague" language. A letter to the CMS by AAFP Board Chair Glen Stream, M.D., urged the agency to clarify the wording and said the Academy is most concerned about regulations affecting physicians who practice in rural and underserved communities and those who have office labs.
