The rules on the export of U.S.-made aerospace items will soon ease, following a decision this week by the State Department to lessen restrictions on what it calls "less sensitive items." Manufacturers will find it easier to export some aerospace components, including those that are part of engines. "These reforms will allow the U.S. government to better focus on controlling the export of sensitive technologies remaining on the U.S. Munitions List while streamlining exports of defense-related items to U.S. allies and partners around the world," a State Department statement said.
