The American Institute of Architects recently named the winners of its "Top Ten Green Projects" for 2013. Among the newsmakers are an historic mixed-use building in San Francisco, the recipient of the "Top Ten Plus" award. Many entries were of near-net-zero energy buildings, and water use was one area where many designers innovated, according to Gail Vittori of the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems and a member of the jury.
