A group of students in grades 3-5 in Gadsden City Schools in Alabama recently spent three months researching and designing inventions to present during an Invention Convention that was judged by local business leaders. Some students, who are in the gifted enrichment program, chose to solve their own problems, such as designing an automated bed maker and a utensil sorter, while other students focused on problems of loved ones, such as a massaging shirt or a voice-activated, solar-powered wheelchair.
