The Eva Creek wind farm near Healy, Alaska, will slash about $4 million from utility bills of Golden Valley Electric Association ratepayers this year by reducing demand for fossil fuels, the utility said. In its first full quarter in service, the wind farm displaced the equivalent of 1.3 million gallons of diesel fuel, the company said. "It's definitely meeting our expectations," said GVEA spokeswoman Cassandra Cerny.
